Greenville Arms 1889 Inn

The Greenville Arms 1889 Inn is a year-round historic Upstate New York bed and breakfast inn in Greene County.

Originally built for William S. and Mary Reed Chapman Vanderbilt in 1889, the historically registered Greenville Arms 1889 Inn is situated on six acres of gardens, lawns, and woodlands. The Queen Anne Revival-style main house, renovated Carriage House, and newly constructed Cottage buildings are host to 16 guest rooms (15 of which have private baths). Delicious made-to-order breakfasts, with a variety of choices, are included in your room rate.

Guest rooms are furnished with a blend of antiques, house-made quilts, and modern conveniences such as air-conditioning and mini-refrigerators. The two deluxe Cottage rooms also feature whirlpool tubs and gas fireplaces. Free wireless internet access is available throughout the property as is an extensive collection of books available for loan during your stay.

As the host of the Hudson River Valley Art Workshops, the Inn boasts an ever changing gallery of art ranging from watercolor landscapes of the region to abstract oil paintings to modern fiber art. The workshop program was called one of the "10 Best Learning Vacations" by USA Today and hosts over 30 events per year with top instructors for a variety of media. Also found onsite is an art supply and gift shop showcasing the work of local artisans as well as organic confections made by the in-house chocolaterie, Life By Chocolate.

Common spaces available to gather include the large front porch, front parlor, two dining rooms (which can accommodate up to 35 people), and the Carriage House Studio (which can accommodate between 20-50 people). Special event packages are available to include wine & cheese parties (with selections from an extensive wine and beer menu), multi-day retreats, and weddings.

The Greenville Arms 1889 Inn perfectly situated as a base to explore the variety found in both the Catskills and Hudson River Valley Region. The towns in Hudson, Catskill, Windham, Hunter, Woodstock, Saugerties, and even Saratoga Springs are within easy day tripping distance. Plenty of hiking trails, golf courses, antique shops, breweries and more can be found in the surrounding area.
