Poetry Potluck is a gathering for poetry enthusiasts. Bring along a poem or two (not food!) written by someone else—something that resonates with you, whether it’s moving, meaningful, or simply beautiful. Alternatively, feel free to come and listen. We’ll share our chosen poems aloud, exploring themes such as tree, shrub, grass, flower, weather, water, wood, stone, dirt, sky, air, animal, matter, color, season, death, and life. If the weather is nice, we’ll meet outdoors.
Mermer Blakeslee, author of three novels and one non-fiction book, has a deep passion for poetry. For her, a great poem is as vital as food. She is dedicated to making soulful, accessible poetry available to those who might have been turned off by the complex language and obscure syntax often encountered in school.
