Hudson-Athens Lighthouse

1874 Lighthouse in the Majestic Hudson River.

Built in 1874, the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse is an architectural gem.  It’s one of the remaining 2 lighthouses that stands in the middle of the majestic Hudson River, between the towns of Athens and Hudson in New York.  Lightkeepers and their families have lived in the lighthouse until the 1960s.  Today, the lighthouse is a national treasure and is open to visitors in the summer, which includes boat transportation and tour.

Experience scheduled Lighthouse Tours and Ferry Rides from June to October 2024, where passengers have the opportunity to immerse themselves in excerpts from Virginia Woolf's "To the Lighthouse."
