The notion of the "Wild, Wild West" appeals to people in all parts of the world. Before the West was wild, however, it was being created in the mind of one the Catskill Region's favorite sons, Ned Buntline, the most prolific dime novelist of the 19th century. Buntline wrote about Buffalo Bill and was the inventor of the Buntline Special. Another writer, this time a woman, Ann Stephens, started it all by writing the first dime novel, set in Catskill, NY. $15/person for lunch and lecture. Hours: 2-3pm.
