Bells will be ringing, choirs will be singing and horses, two by two, will be clip-clopping up Second Street. This and more will await visitors to the Annual Athens Victorian Stroll on Saturday, December 9th. There will be free activities for the entire family! Start your day at noon in the Athens Cultural Center to hear the Athens Community Chorus singing, enjoy cookies and punch while you shop handmade crafts. Then pick up a map of the village-wide festivities and enjoy fun for the entire family! Festivities will end with a holiday bonfire, caroling and tree lighting in the Riverfront Park at 5:00 PM.
Activities include a Holiday Cottage Contest, Victorian Santa, Craft Vendors, Coxsackie Athens Community Band Concert, Cookies and Chocolate, Horse Drawn Trolley and Hay Wagon, Bell Ringers & Harpists, Vintage Props & Photos, Ice Sculptures, Historic Open Houses, Stewart House Tours, House Decorating Contest, Athens Museum Displays, Crossroads Brewery Tours, Dancers & Carolers, Caricaturist, Strolling Clown, Face Painting And Much More!!!
Be sure to pick up a Time Traveler's Passport at the Athens Cultural Center. As you wind your way through the Village, stop at the "customs" desks, located at different event locations, to get your passport stamped. Collect all five stamps and bring the passport back to ACC to get entered into a drawing for a special gift basket. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase at the Cultural Center during the Stroll.
